A VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

HERE IS OUR VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - WE HAVE BEEN AWARDED OUR FOURTH GREEN FLAG FOR SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL!!

A huge thank you to all involved-teachers, parents, Coiste Uaine members and most of all-YOU! The pupils of Mount Anville!
You have walked and scooted, "parked and strided", cycled and carpooled, in all weathers and all year round. WELL DONE TO YOU ALL!

As a preliminary celebration, the Coiste Uaine were invited to a "Green Party" in Ms. Naughton's room.
Her green cupcakes went down a treat!

The next stage is the award ceremony which takes place in Croke Park on the 21st May.
Watch this space!

Frog!

No sooner was our new pond in place than a number of prospective owners came to view it!
Now  where is he?
Oh there he is! And he's brought a friend!

Spring!

The weather is warmer, the days are longer and the signs of  spring are everywhere to be seen!
Our annual school spring clean took place on Saturday and the garden got a lot of attention.

A new native hedgerow was planted. This will attract many native minibeasts and birds to our garden once it is established. Thirty trees were donated by the Native Woodland Trust as part of the Trees for Schools programme.Ms. Lambe's class collected the tokens and were lucky enough to win the trees for the school.
They helped to plant the hedgerow against the old brick wall.

Our plastic frog pond was replaced with one of the big Belfast sinks from the old bathrooms - now there's reusing for you! Senior infant girls put our frogspawn back in its new home today. Hopefully it will be hatching into tadpoles over the next few weeks.
