A bit hazy about what biodiversity really means? Can't quite put your finger on why it's important? well we will all be educating ourselves about the topic over the next two years!
The girls in the school have already completed a biodiversity survey and we will hopefully get it up on the website so you at home can try it too. Watch this space for more news!
Don't forget that Feet on Friday will be on going this year, as will recycling, reusing and energy and water saving.
Next Friday is "Witchy Feet on Friday" with everyone dressing up and taking a Witchy Walk to school. It was a great success last year with many Mums and teachers also walking in costume so
don't miss it!

Walk to School Week Results!
Well, we finished the week in great style with everyone walking, scooting or even cycling in pyjamas!
After counting up the walkers for each day, the results showed that a tremendous effort was made during the whole week, but on Friday we outdid ourselves with 378 walkers! What an amazing result when you consider that there are only 426 girls in the whole school - Well done everybody!

Spring!
The weather is warmer, the days are longer and the signs of spring are everywhere to be seen!
Our annual school spring clean took place on Saturday and the garden got a lot of attention.
A new native hedgerow was planted. This will attract many native minibeasts and birds to our garden once it is established. Thirty trees were donated by the Native Woodland Trust as part of the Trees for Schools programme.Ms. Lambe's class collected the tokens and were lucky enough to win the trees for the school.
They helped to plant the hedgerow against the old brick wall.
Our plastic frog pond was replaced with one of the big Belfast sinks from the old bathrooms - now there's reusing for you! Senior infant girls put our frogspawn back in its new home today. Hopefully it will be hatching into tadpoles over the next few weeks.

Easter Bonnets!
Despite the continued awful weather, Mount Anville walkers showed that their enthusiasm is undiminished!
Not only did many girls walk to school in the downpours, but many of them wore eye-catching bonnets!
Down to Earth Theatre Company
We had a visit from a theatre company called "Down to Earth". Established in 1991, they perform in schools to promote environmental awareness to children. Their aim is to help young people understand why and how environmental problems effect them and to encourage them to look at ways in which they can help to protect the environment. They were great fun!
